I dunno Tim. We've lost a lot of classmates over the years. Occasionally, I'll check out the obits in the Ranger Review online edition to keep current and it blows me away to see who all has passed, not just from our class, but from those who roamed the halls and wore the colors before and after us. As adults, we tend to put a greater value on life and lives of those we use to associate with. While I may not recognize everyone when I see them, I'm thankful I still HAVE the opportunity to see them or hear from them. Case in point, the occasional 'rant' from a GREAT friend, Tim Russell. Have a GREAT day, my friend! Hope to see you soon! '74!!!

I think I have to agree with Mike. None of us are 19 any more and so often I'll hear of some one I know who passed away and they were way younger than I am.I think it's a good idea to take every opportunity we can to say hello to friends. We're not getting any younger. I was skiing in British Columbia in early march and hit a tree. Wow, the heal up process is a wee bit slower than when I was 19. Hope all of you are doing great. God Bless the USA

These are the classmates that I have received mail back undeliverable for the All 70's Class Reunion.  Randy Dinardi, Howard Keller, Laureen Fornall Mosdal, Ken Jones, Lance Legato, Tina Bodell, Donna Bouchard Erickson, Jeannine Meeds, Andrew Pounds.  If anyone has current addresses for them, please send to me at vicki.temple@yahoo.com.  Thanks!

Vicki, last I heard Jeanie Meeds is still in New Orleans. That is all I know for sure. Sorry I don't have more info for you.

The All 70's Reunion plans are being finalized.  Everyone that I had correct addresses for should have received their letters and registration forms.  Once again, Class of 74 will meet at the Oasis Thursday evening.  I hear rumors that our very own Dave Schmidt will be spinning tunes for us at the "O".  Friday there are school tours planned and Friday evening is the 70's Reunion Band with appetizers at the EPEC.  Saturday will include class photos at DCHS and Saturday evening is a dinner and another band "The Max".  The parking lot and street will be blocked off at the EPEC both evenings, so it promises to be a very fun time!  I have had mail returned for the following classmates:  Darrell Oliver, Kristine Peterson, Sheila Mittelsteadt, Carey Sprankle, Rick Parkes, Mike Durnam.  I know there are probably more wrong addresses that did not get returned and I am very sorry about that.  Glendive has plenty of new hotels so there is no excuse about not having a place to stay.  Let's bring back the 70's for a weekend!

The All 70's Reunion Committee is planning to do a memorial to all deceased classmates from that era.  They are asking each class to provide a list.  I have no idea where to begin.  If anyone would like to take on this project and provide a list for me,  it would be greatly appreciated.  I presume at some point for one of our reunions, we had that information that we could just add to.  Unfortunately, the list just keeps getting longer and longer....

So the All 70's Class Reunion was a huge success and we missed those that could not attend.  Thanks to all that did attend.  All of the bills have been paid by the committee and our class now has seed money left over for our next Class of 74 Reunion!  Hope to see you all in a few years...heart

Hello everyone. Nothing important, I just wanted to say hello to everyone and I hope everybody is doing great. I am in Denver right now and it looks like it might snow later today. My wife and I are looking forward to using our 5th wheel this summer and my wife loves to fish so we will spend some time on the pontoon when it warms up again.

Again, I hope everyones health is good (we didn't seem to think about that much when we were 19). Take care everyone.   Bill Waite

What? Reunion on July 26, 27 and 28?

2024 or              2025

That is not a lot of time to plan ahead.   I already had a plan to visit family in June of this year, but I can't come back twice within a month.    Hopefully this means  2025!    Joe

Ouote, "Class reunions may be a part of life, but so's vomiting 🤮 and who wants to pay for that?" An excellent truth about reunions. As the soup Nazi would say no reunion for me! Ha! Hell, who wants to hear about everybody's 401ks and a $100,000 sports car! So i won't go and neither should any of you! The fair sucks by the way!  As Mort Sahl used to say " Is there anyone who I have not offended yet😅<>>

First, I want to thank all those involved in the prep for the reunion and wanted to add my 2 cents worth.  Are the dates set in stone or can they be changed?  July is a very busy month for a lot of us whether it is prior commitments with family and grandchildren, or work commitments for those of us still working, or just end of summer pre planned vacations. I understand it is the weekend of the fair and I am wondering if that would be good or bad for attendance. Has anyone thought about early September? The weather should be cooler, and it would also give people a little more time to get their schedules arranged so they could attend.

Mary Sadorf (Fabian)

I agree with you Sherry. There is so much going on that weekend.  The district legion baseball tournament is going on at the same time.  The state swim meet is in Sidney.

We are getting older and can't take the heat.

I think we would get more locals the attend if it was  on a weekend that nothing was going on.  I thought if you wanted activities homecoming would be a good time.

Dave and Doug have started the planning so we will go with that.  I appreciate their time and hard work that they have put into getting this reunion going.

I will pay to attend but don't know what I will be able to attend.

Victoria (Vickie) Schneider (Christen)

I support staying with the late July dates that have been proposed for the reunion.  Dave, Doug, and others have spent lots of time carefully considering what will be the best time and this is what the planning committee has landed on.  There will be no perfect time.  There always will be some conflicts.  But I think late July is the best time for most people, and we should stick with it.  Changing now would lead to much confusion and, I believe, would lower attendance.  I am excited about visiting friends and family in Glendive!  I hope everyone will do all they can to attend all or at least part of the reunionweekend.  It will be lots of fun!

Victoria

Ah, Victoria don't you remember how hot it gets in Glendive during late July! Usually 95 to 100! Everybody is 50 years older! The heat would be too much for all! September would be better! That's all!

05/26/24 11:40 AM #41

Timothy Russell

Please don't go to the 50th reunion. Here is why! Item forecast for late July is 100 degree heat! That is too hot! Item, to have a walk in the park in the horrific heat to come and the already record amounts of Rattlesnakes is not only stupid but dangerous! Item who plays golf anymore? Too hot! Item it is a lie to say how good the fair is when everyone in town knows just how shitty it is! The people who runs the fair have no idea how to run a fair! Really ! Item I cannot believe what cheap crap it is to tell everyone to go to the fair band instead of hiring a band for our reunion! Item to have a get together at the fairgrounds at the same time the fair is just plain stupid! How can anybody visit that way? Plus I must add the cooks at golf course and the moose are terrible! So please don't waste your money on this cheap reunion! Poorly planned and done! There should have been a announcement last fall for planning this but nope!

And there you have it Tim...from Weatherspark.com.  Average high is 88 in late July after a cool 60 morning low... again, on an average day.  So unless you have some kind of magic, long term accurate forecasting capability or source, maybe it's time to put a muzzle on it.  You clearly have an axe to grind for some reason(s), so if you don't want to attend...again...then don't.  Simple pimple.  No reason, though. to keep throwing out all this venom.  Just my .02.

I've been looking forward to #50 for, ummmmmm.   FIFTY YEARS!!!, but UN-fortunately, I won't be able to attend the reunion. We'll be vacationing in Montana and will actually BE in Glendive, but we'll get there on Monday after the reunion. (previously scheduled reservations out west). I'll be at the next one though. 😆. My point is that when I DO actually go to a reunion, (last one was 30 yr), I don't go for the fair or the snakes or the golf or the dance/music... I go to see my classmates! THEY mean more to me than anything else! Been away from the 'Dive for thirty+ years but I'm still a Red Devil at heart. We've lost so many classmates over the years and I think our priorities have shifted for the better. For those of you who DO make it, ENJOY yourselves to the fullest! I wish I could be there just to say hi if nothing else, whether we were friends or just acquaintances. We're all part of the Class of '74! Even you Tim.  I hope you'll reconsider, but if not, maybe I'll stop by on my next visit just to say hi like a couple years ago. I'll be watching for photos and feedback from everyone. Have fun!

I will not be attending our 50th class reunion. As much as I might want to attend, my health does not allow me to go. I will be looking a photos so hopefully you all will be posting lots of them!  Have fun!

I am really sorry I won't be attending the 50th reunion.  I had been waiting for some time hear and when we made plans to be in the Outer Banks with our family starting that weekend I was hoping if there was a reunion it would be another time.)  I will be a bit sad and nostalgic and wish I was with you and I tried to figure out how it could work.    I sure will miss seeing everyone who will be there and will miss those of you, like me, who didn't make it.  Can we agree to do this again in 10 years and maybe picking the date now? (just a thought) I hope I will be around then and can still travel. I am thankful my wife Esther and I can still get around.  Since the beginning of the year we were to Florida twice (once on 3 weeks of vacation and one on rebuilding homes that were damaged by Huricane Ian). We also took a cruise across the Atantic to Spain and spent several days there, and last month we were in NYC for five days.  I am guessing I might slow down by 2034 but I hope not.  Some friends our age say: "first comes the GO GO years, then the SLOW GO Years and then the NO GO years.

Of course I hear  it is going to be too HOT that weekend. So....  Wait...this is Glendive right?  I  remember plus 100 days that lasted for 20 days in a row.  So yes a good chance it might be Hot (or warm) but so the memories hold a warm place in my heart and I will miss you all. - Darrel
