John Denby

John Edward “Johnny” Denby was the son of Burton and Clara Denby, who farmed near Terry. He was born early in the morning on February 3, 1955. He attended school in Terry and Hysham, graduating from Dawson County High School in Glendive in 1974. He also attended a vocational school in Billings, where he studied mechanics. As a young man, he cowboyed in Utah and Montana, making his reputation as an excellent horseman. He worked in the oilfields in Montana, Wyoming and recently in Alaska.

Mr Denby succumbed to cancer at Deaconess Medical Center on January 16, 1996. Survivors include his three sons, BoJohn Denby in Wyoming, Christopher John “CJ” and Tyler Braxton Denby who live with heir mother, Wendy in NE; his mother Clara of Billings; sisters, Carolyn (Wicky) Phelps of OR and Mary Ellen Citron of Billings; and brother, William “Billy” Denby from Marysville WA. He will also be missed by his numerous other family members and his many friends. He is at peace with his father, grandparents and all those he loved, who have gone before him.
